I tried most of diets imaginable ... some with moderate success, some without any results, some resulting in setbacks (hell, try to eat SMALL and/or healthy meals every 3 hours OR try to calorie count for couple of weeks ... you'll end up with your WHOLE DAY revolving around food ... not acceptable for me).
What I love about No-S (and ShovelGlove) is the MINIMUM effort you have to put in once you get used to it. You simply cut out snacks, sweets and second plates ... unless it's a "S" (special) day ... and you're done. Plus you exercise 14 minutes every day (except weekends). Not bad, for a weight loss program? (actually a way of living)
Anyway, using his reasonable advice I managed to shed couple of pounds after two-and-a-half-years long plateau and because I started Kung-Fu (Pei Shaolin) lessons 6 months ago ... plus ShovelGlove 5 weeks ago, I even gained some muscles instead of fat.
Btw, when I originally started, I had BMI = 33.9 ... now I'm down to 30.7.
So it's still work in progress, but I'm confident that I'm done with dieting ... for life. Simply follow the Turbulence Training plan.. Fast, efficient and extremely efficient..
Just working out 15 minutes makes my entire body running on sweat.. but u have to do for 45 minutes, 3 days a week..
It has bodyweight training as well.. for a killing experience, i did weight training thrice a week and bodyweight training every other day.. i did this for three weeks, and now am taking a big break..
And u know what, i had lost 3% bodyfat in three weeks.. plain simple..
Det plan: follow craig's nutrition plan.. if you want more specifics, follow Tom venuto's Burn the Fat Feed the muscle..
People's problem is that they are too impatient.. if you get a plan, atleast stick to it for 4 weeks and then change..
Our body is not like a computer where copying files takes time, but deleting them takes like
a second or so.. it needs time..
So give it time.. instead of deciding on one, just pick one and DO IT.. dont just run along collecting infos.. There isnt a perfect diet out there.. You have to find something that fits your situation/body etc etc.
For example, i wasn't what you call fat or big, average body. My main goal was to lose fat around my waist, I simply did that by:
- no more fast food.
- no more sugar (not even in coffee/thea)
- weight lifting 4x week, after each session 5min cardio
It worked for me like a charm, I noticed change after 2-3 months.
Oh and 1 last thing.. Dont let the scale controll you. The best way to change any difference, is visually. Take a look at your body everytime after gym, instead of worrying about your weight.
